安居乐业A Peaceful Home and a Happy Life

A still life of flowers in vessels, a gongpin or offering picture. At the top stands a tall celadon vase, washed flat in pale green, holding a spray of peonies in pink, apricot and peach. Below is an old bronze-coloured tub, its side written with the words “a peaceful home and a happy life” and the character fu, good fortune, and filled with peonies in crimson, apricot and lilac; behind them rises a sacred lily, wannianqing, heavy with red berries. At the lower left white narcissus grow from a shallow dish, with a few orange fruits dabbed in before it. The vessels are outlined in pale ink and coloured plainly, a quiet foil to the flowers.

The same words are inscribed at the left, dated autumn 2026. The vase, ping, sounds like peace; the peony means wealth; the evergreen lily means long life: together a picture of a calm, contented home.

此为清供图。上方一只青瓷长瓶，淡绿平涂，瓶中插牡丹一束，粉红、杏黄、桃红数朵错落而出；下方一只古铜色木桶，桶身题“安居乐业”与“福”字，桶中牡丹盛放，朱红、杏黄、粉紫诸色簇拥，又有万年青一株，红果累累，挺立其后。左下浅盆中水仙丛生，白花清雅；盆前橙黄果实数枚，以没骨点出。器物淡墨勾廓，敷色浑朴，与浓艳花色相映成趣。

左侧亦题“安居乐业”，款署“丙午秋月”。瓶谐“平”，取平安之意；牡丹寓富贵，万年青寓长久，合成一幅家宅安宁、生活美满的吉祥图。
