About the painting 赏析
A single flourishing peony rises through the full height of the scroll, its blossoms crimson, pink and rose, with two blooms of clear yellow among them. The flowers are painted in the boneless manner, each petal shaded from a deep base to a pale, almost white edge, with dense yellow stamens at the heart. The leaves are looser: washes of ink and green, veined with quick dark lines. From the left two small birds fly in, one turning back toward the other, and their movement opens up the crowded mass of flowers.
Since the Tang dynasty the peony has been called the king of flowers, and it stands for wealth and honour. The title, Wealth and Good Fortune, is a plain and heartfelt wish for a prosperous, happy home.
一本牡丹自画底拔起，直贯全幅。朱红、粉红、胭脂诸色错落其间，复缀明黄两朵，花头大小相间，疏密有致。花瓣纯以没骨分染，瓣根色浓，渐向瓣缘淡出，花蕊点以金黄，丰腴鲜活；叶片墨绿相参，勾筋爽利，用笔较花头为放。左方双雀振翅飞来，一前一后，回首相顾，满纸繁花顿添灵动之致。
牡丹自唐以来号称“花王”，以喻富贵。题曰“富贵吉祥”，取家道兴隆、平安喜乐之意，语浅而情真。

明黄牡丹，瓣根色浓，花蕊点金。A yellow peony, deepest at the base of the petals, its stamens dotted in gold. 
朱红牡丹与墨绿叶片，叶筋勾勒爽利。A crimson peony among ink-green leaves, the veins drawn in quick strokes. 
画顶粉红牡丹，层层分染，柔润丰腴。Pink peonies at the top, shaded layer upon layer. 
题款“富贵吉祥”，钤引首章与姓名章。The inscription, “Wealth and Good Fortune”, with her seals.
