秋趣Autumn Delight

A square sheet. A gourd vine reaches in from the upper left, its leaves in ink and blue-green, the darkest dotted with bright mineral green. A few orange flowers open along the vine, and below hang two plump orange gourds, washed in without outline, while fine pale tendrils curl downward. From the upper right a branch reaches in, where a pair of orioles perch shoulder to shoulder, yellow with black wings, bending to look down with bright eyes.

The title at the right reads “Autumn Delight.” Gourds ripen in autumn, and hulu sounds like fulu, fortune and rank; the pair of orioles brings the garden to life.

此为斗方。葫芦藤自左上伸展，叶以墨与青绿写出，浓叶上点石绿，明丽醒目；藤间橙花数朵，两枚葫芦垂挂下方，色作橙黄，没骨晕染，饱满圆润；藤须以淡墨细笔盘绕而下。右上横出一枝，黄鹂一对并肩而栖，俯首下望，黄羽黑翅，眼神灵动。

右侧题“秋趣”。葫芦熟于秋，谐“福禄”；黄鹂成双，写秋日园圃之生趣。
