乾坤清气Pure Air Between Heaven and Earth

White lotus, painted mostly in ink with only touches of color. The leaves are splashed in, the darkest as black as lacquer and the palest like mist, wet and dry strokes breaking into one another; their veins are flicked out in strong dark lines. Three white flowers, one high and two together lower down, are drawn in fine outline and left the white of the paper, with pale green seed pods and vermilion stamens, a single bright note in all that quiet. Long reeds in pale ink bend across the right side as if in a breeze. At the foot, the stalks stand straight among scattered dots of pale ink that suggest clear, shallow water.

The title at the upper left reads Pure Air Between Heaven and Earth, dated summer of 2026. The lotus rises clean from the mud and has long stood for the person of integrity; a white lotus, above all, seems the very picture of that clear, upright spirit.

此幅写白荷，水墨为主，略施淡彩。荷叶数张以泼墨写出，浓者如漆，淡者如烟，干湿浓淡相破，墨韵层层；叶筋以浓墨挑出，劲利爽朗。白荷三朵，一居上部，二并于下，以细线勾瓣，不施粉色，全借纸白，莲房嫩绿，蕊作朱红，素净之中一点明艳。右侧芦草数茎，以淡墨长线写出，随风披拂；画底荷梗挺立，淡墨圆点错落其间，点出水面清浅。

左上题“乾坤清气”。乾坤即天地，清气为天地间清正之气。荷出淤泥而不染，向为君子之喻，白荷尤见高洁，题此四字，正合其品。
