牵牛花Morning Glories

A fabric picture in the round format, a white circle of paper set into a square of cream card. The vine is made of narrow rolled strips of green cloth that coil down from the upper left and then run out to the right, twisting like a line drawn with a fine brush. Five trumpet-shaped flowers in purple, pink and orange are each pieced from several padded petals, with thin gaps left between them so the white ground shows through like the deep throat of the flower. Three buds in red and pink are still closed. The three-lobed leaves overlap in several greens, each creased down the middle for a vein, and the lowest ones reach past the edge of the circle. A seal of each shape is stamped at the right.

Morning glories open at dawn and close by noon, a common flower of village fences. The picture has no title; this one describes it.

此为布艺贴画，作圆光式，米黄卡纸中嵌白色圆形纸地。藤蔓以绿布卷作细条，自左上盘旋而下，复向右横出，曲折缠绕，宛如笔写游丝。花五朵，紫、粉、橙诸色，每朵以数瓣拼成喇叭之形，内衬薄棉，瓣间留出细缝，透出白地，恰似花心幽深；花苞三枚，朱粉含苞。叶作三裂，层层叠压，中脉以折痕压出，深浅绿色相间，下部枝叶探出圆外。右侧钤闲章、方印各一。

牵牛花晨开午合，又名朝颜，本是篱落间寻常之花，画家以布写之，生意盎然。此作未题画名，题目依画意拟定。
