Lotus Fragrance for Ten Miles (fan)

A folding fan. On the left several lotus leaves are washed in dark and pale ink and pale green, the ink spreading naturally; a pink lotus rises above them, outlined and washed with rouge, and a seed-pod hangs to the right. At the centre a kingfisher with a blue-green, white-spotted back perches on a stalk, looking down. At the right the title “Lotus fragrance for ten miles” is written in a column, signed Jumei, with two seals.

The scent of the lotus carried far and a kingfisher watching for fish: summer coolness for a fan.
