紫气东来Purple Air from the East (square, III)

A square sheet. Wisteria spreads across the top, its vines in pale ink and ochre crossing and twining, and clusters of flowers hang down in violet and lilac with bright yellow centres; on the left one great cluster falls almost to the middle of the sheet. From the right two swallows fly in among the flowers: above, a grey bird with an orange cheek skims past on spread wings; below, a black-backed swallow with a forked tail swerves and darts. The leaves are sparse and green, and the bare paper reads like open sky.

The title at the lower right reads “Purple Air from the East”. Of the three squares of this title, this one hangs its flowers from the top, like a low purple cloud.

此为斗方。紫藤自画顶横向铺展，藤蔓以淡墨赭石写出，交错缠绕；花穗串串垂下，紫、淡紫相间，花心点以明黄，左侧一大串直垂至画半，饱满繁茂。右中燕子两只穿花而来，上方一只灰羽橙颊展翅斜掠，下方一只墨背剪尾，回身疾飞，动势轻捷。藤叶青绿，疏落有致，留白处如天光，清新明快。

右下题“紫气东来”。三幅同题斗方各有布局，此幅花穗自上垂下，如紫云低覆。
