金果累累Golden Fruit in Clusters

A small painting on card, of loquats. A loquat tree rises from the foot of the card, its trunk in pale ink and ochre, straight and firm; its long narrow leaves are written in dark ink alternating with blue-green, brightened with dots of mineral blue and overlapping front and back in rich, wet ink. The fruit hangs in bunches, dabbed in gamboge and orange without outline, round and full, each with a single dark dot at its tip, in three clusters up and down the card that answer one another, the whole sheet glowing gold.

The title at the upper left reads “Golden fruit in clusters”. The loquat stays green through the four seasons and its fruit is the colour of gold: a picture of harvest and plenty.

此为卡纸小品，写枇杷。一株枇杷自画底拔起，枝干以淡墨淡赭写出，挺直有骨；叶片狭长，以浓墨与青绿相间写成，叶上石青点醒，前后掩映，墨色酣畅。果实成串，以藤黄、橙黄没骨点出，圆润饱满，果脐以浓墨点画，寥寥一笔便见神采，上中下三簇相互呼应，满纸金黄，明亮可喜。

左上题“金菓累累”。“菓”同“果”。枇杷四时不凋，果色如金，寓丰收富足、硕果满枝。
