三个小姑娘Three Little Girls

A horizontal fabric picture on a white ground. Three little girls stand in a row, each under a wide-brimmed sun hat that hides her face, so all we see are dresses, hands and feet. The girl on the left wears sage green, the one in the middle purple and the one on the right mint. Their dresses are cut from dyed cloth over light padding, with skirts in overlapping tiers that rise softly from the ground. Each hat has a ribbon bow and a band of fine cord in red, gold or green; gold cord is wound around their wrists as bracelets, and the middle girl carries a little black bag on a gold-cord handle. One waves, another lets her arm hang, and each has her own small character.

The bonneted girl with a hidden face is a familiar figure in Western quilt appliqué, borrowed here with evident delight. The picture has no title; this one describes it.

此为布艺贴画，白地，横幅。三个小姑娘一字排开，皆戴阔檐大帽，帽檐低垂，掩去面容，只见衣裙与手足。左者着草绿，中者着紫，右者着薄荷绿，衣裙以染色布剪成，内衬薄棉，裙摆层叠，微微隆起。帽上各系丝带蝴蝶结，帽箍以红、金、绿诸色细绳绕成；腕间缠金线为镯，中间一人手提黑色小包，提手亦以金线弯成。或扬手招呼，或垂手而立，姿态各异，稚气可爱。

大帽遮面之女童形象，常见于西洋拼布贴花，画家借来入画，别有童趣。此作未题画名，题目依画意拟定。
