Narcissus and a Mouse (II)

A small round painting on card, the same subject as the previous one but differently posed. Three narcissus plants stand together, their bulbs in pale ink, their leaves washed flat in mineral green and veined in ink, parting from the middle to either side, with clusters of white flowers to left and right around orange-yellow centres. At the lower right a little mouse in dark ink sits and looks back, its long tail curving along the ground and its round eyes wide, as if caught by the scent of the flowers above.

This painting is also untitled; the title describes the picture. Seen side by side, the two show the painter working the same subject two ways.
